MC Hammer Breaks though in a Big Way

At the rookie showcase Prospect, MC Hammer has finally shown why he has hyped himself up so much. Looking at his regular season statistics they were laughable at best where he could barely find the net or set up a teammate. Hammer’s work ethic however has not been questioned.  Training week in and week out his improvement was definitely obvious especially in the S42 playoffs where he was definitely a contributor to the success of the Royals. However I am not here to discuss his past performance I am here to discuss his present and his future.

The Now:

Cue the Prospect showcase game. After a rough season Hammer still was able to earn a spot on the first pairing for the European team. It was determined that he would be paired with fellow S43 draftee Michael Clardy. To say the least, Hammer was nervous to be paired with someone knew as he struggled in Bern on their second pairing and now to be on the top pairing was something he was not sure if he could handle. As the puck was dropped so were his nerves. Just a minute into the game Hammer’s name was on the score sheet when he assisted Josh Merica’s first goal of the game. Later in the period Hammer was able to add his own goal as he netted two quick in succession.

The rest of the game was a blur for Hammer as he found out later that he had netted two hat tricks and having a grand total of 11 points. He also was able to recall his fight with fellow draftee Jorma Ruutu who fought him to a draw. They were seen after the game getting into a car and getting dinner so no love was loss between the two competitors.

The Future:

The end of this week is drawing upon us, that means both the VHLM and VHL draft are upon us. Hammer has been seen hitting the gym as the nerves of where he will go has been driving him nuts. He has hopes that he will be a first round pick. He believes that his recent play and work ethic as well as his Prospect game was outstanding to say the least. There have been rumors circulating that he has been in contact with multiple VHL GM’s but those are simply rumors and we will know on draft day who has been in contact with the defenseman.

Hammer has also come out and shared his career goals with us:

  • He would like to record multiple 100 point seasons
  • He would like to end his career as a plus
  • He would like to score 100 points in his last VHLM season as he will most likely go down after the VHL entry draft
  • He wants to lead his team in points at least once in his career
  • He has been sourced saying that although winning the Cup is always nice he would not mind grabbing a few personal awards as well.
