Glaciem 86
Giovanni Reuel Right Wing Age: 18 Handedness: L Jersey Number: 78 Height (inches): 5'11 Weight (lbs.): 198 Birthplace: Canne della Battaglia, Italy. The Man Giovanni Reuel is an Italian born and raised winger hailing from Canne della Battaglia, famed as the site of the Ancient Battle of Cannae not as a hockey hot bed. He gained notoriety playing in the German junior program due to his gifted stick work and skating ability. He is smaller in stature but is looking to excel playing a balanced skilled game focusing on defensive positioning over physicality. He is devoted to making it pro and is eagerly awaiting the end of his waiver period to see which VHLM team picks him up. Pros Stick Work Reuel has always dazzled spectators with his hand eye coordination. He is a student of the Datsyukian Deke and relishes the opportunity take on defenders one on one, situations which always end up favouring the sleek Italian. His stick work extends to the defensive aspect of the game as well. His idolizing of Datsyuk has made Reuel focus on how the Russian manages to remove the puck from the opposition’s blade with incredible ease and has made him an effective two way player. Dedication Reuel comes from a family of academics. He has taken this love of studying and applied it with fantastic results to hockey. He sees hockey as a craft which can be perfected with study and practise. He will spend more time in the film room than anyone else on the team. He is also mature for his age which continues to help Reuel focus on what is important and not let distractions impact his performance. Skating Reuel learned to skate through figure skating and speed skating. This background has made him a powerful and elegant skater. It is an aspect of his game that he continues to refine and believes it is pivotal to his success as a smaller player. Cons Physicality Reuel never liked the physical side of hockey. He appreciates the beauty of the game and always was infatuated by the skilled players who seemed to have the puck on a string. He goes into corners looking to poke the puck out, not to hit and rarely finishes a check. Strength Reuel is small. He is not a towering six foot four power forward and is not built like one. He will have trouble adapting to the more physical style of play in the men’s leagues as he struggles to not be pushed around by the bigger players. In the gym he is dedicated to improving his cardio but weight training is something he distains. Introverted Reuel is not a talker. He does not particularly enjoy the comradery of a team and prefers to focus on himself in his free time instead of spending time with the team. He is polite and courteous with his teammates but they cannot expect Reuel to interact with them anymore than is necessary. Projection Reuel is going to be a top six player. He has the dedication and mentality it takes to make the big leagues combined with the necessary talent to succeed. As he simply brings no physicality to the table he would not be suitable for a bottom six roll and likely will look for opportunities elsewhere if he cannot play top six.
