Alright, so maybe it's not a mania proportion, but Mathieu Baptiste was claimed off waivers by the Brampton Blades and right away took into action. In just his first game, he notched a point with the franchise, making it the fastest point of his career, something he was expecting knowing his own abilities. A lot of people doubted his talents right out the gate, because his agent is one that has been known to make good players, however his slacker of a recent player really made people have judgments that could be called pre-judgement. 

 

Despite the people talking a lot of crap about him, Baptiste really wants to make sure that people take him as a serious contender for the present and future. He prides himself on a few things that make his game unique, his speed and his size in particular. No one in the game is particularly fast at a larger body size, so this is something people say are unique and something they say are actually crazy, something unseen by so many people, but Baptiste is unlike any ordinary player out there. 

 

As a French player, Baptiste has a very high standard both from himself and from his family, as they've invested a lot of time and money into the sport. He's been on a lot of teams radars in many different leagues, but has just landed here. If he can really show-up to the games each and every day, he's going to make for a possible future hall-of-fame player, but he's got way too much time on his hands to prove it.
