With the onset of the VHL's forty-fifth season, the close of Cologne goaltender Brock Waldron's career is nigh.

Waldron's career has been full of innocuous highs and conspicuous lows, as he always performed strongly when games were relatively meaningless yet suffered many failures when the stage was brightest. He can lean on several strong performances in conference championship series, yet will always be dragged down by incredibly lackluster tries at the Continental Cup.

An anticipated rebuild has been shelved by the Express, as the team is making yet another attempt at championship success in Waldron's final go-round. He should be able to perform well, but the strength of the Europeans might be a bit much for him and his team to maintain their usual level of success.

In his stead, the ever-enigmatic Hybrid Agency is throwing their hat behind a young American winger named Pete Stockton. Stockton looks like a standard power forward with a strong two-way game, yet he has much work to do in the way of passing and skating. He could have a strong future, if he keeps working at improving his game.

For the record, this is the first time I've written anything for TPE in the VHL in about a calendar year. Good times.
