Molholt 2,185
Max Mølholt | Rookie Profile Name | Max Mølholt Position | Right Wing Age | 34 Height | 6'0 Weight | 205 lbs Handness | Right Hometown | Mølholt, Denmark Team | Toronto Legion Max Mølholt | Toronto Legion Max Mølholt ended up on the Toronto Legion through a general manager exception rule. In the Victory Hockey League, once every 5-8 seasons or so, a team is allowed to pull one player to their team automatically at their general manager's selection. When Toronto appointed a new general manager, he made the selection of Mølholt official. Toronto forfeited a 2nd round pick in the Season 46 VHL Entry Draft to acquire Mølholt, who was in all likelihood a top 7 selection in the S45 VHL Entry Draft, had he remained eligible. While some question this move due to Mølholt's age (34) at the time he enters the league, the consensus seems to be that he will be able to play out a full career in the Victory Hockey League. Max Mølholt | Positives Primary Strength | Scoring Max's best asset is his ability to score. Some might be fooled by the fact that he led the VHLM in assists during his only full season in the development league, but that was largely due to his supporting cast. He adapted to the situation and knew he wasn't being called upon to score as much. However, at the pro level we expect Max to be a goal scoring winger who will look to rely on his strong slap shot and accurate wrist shot to net him plenty of goals in his career. Mølholt would best be paired with a playmaking center and perhaps a physical forward who can generate more shooting opportunities for him. The more shots he can cleanly take, the better he'll be. Secondary Strength | Defense Mølholt might not be a top two-way forward at this point in his career, but he could possibly get there one day. He isn't physical on defense, but he relies on a strong poke check ability to find himself with numerous takeaways each game. He plays the passing lanes well also, finding ways to put himself in position to steal the puck away, without being overly obvious about his intentions. If he adds a physical aspect to his game in the future, he could be a top defensive forward later in his career. Tertiary Strength | Puck Handling While he primarily looks to get the puck and fire it on net, he does have the ability to move the puck down the ice on his own as well. This is something that he's continuing to work on, but as this ability improves it will increase his odds of getting better looks at the net, even if he has to create his own shot instead of being setup by a teammate. Max Mølholt | Negatives Primary Weakness | Physicality While Max has the ability to play some nice defense, almost none of his game involves being physical on the ice. A solid hit coming from Mølholt is a rare occurrence at this point in his career. If he wants to truly elevate his defensive play, he'll need to add the ability to give and take a hit, so as to create more offensive opportunities for himself and his teammates. Secondary Weakness | Passing Mølholt surprised many when he led the VHLM in assists last season, but he'll be the first to tell you that this is still a weakness of his. While he does have the ability to pass the puck rather effectively, he could struggle to read the passing lanes at the next level. Perhaps the biggest setback here is the mentality, Max simply does not look to pass as a first or even second option, so when he does pass it is usually forced or rushed after all of his other options are exhausted. He may not need to be an elite passer if he becomes a phenomenal scorer, but he does need to refine the mental aspects of the passing game. Tertiary Weakness | Age Coming into the league, Max is already 34 years old. Most prospects come into the VHL in their early 20s, or even younger. Max will have to commit to improving himself to be able to overcome the difficulties of staying in shape and avoiding injury in his mid thirties. If Max can stay committed for 7-8 seasons, he can likely develop into a nice player for the Legion, but he still has work to do. DollarAndADream 3,356
Overview: 2/2 - Good stuff. The Legion have a promising future with you at the helm and Max Molholt sniping from the RW. Pros & Cons: 3/3 - Nothing bad to see here. Everything is great. Grammar: 2/2 - Nothing to spot, as I expected. Presentation: 1/1 - This is a sick looking RP, better than the usual ones I see. Overall: 8/8 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/23710-claimedmax-m%C3%B8lholt-rookie-profile-final-88/#findComment-268675 Share on other sites
