I'm a firm believer that if you chose what you want and actually be productive, a spot will open up regardless of position. GM's tend to see activity and they work around that with trades and draft picks. If you do create claim 30 TPE right away on creation! There's maybe technically a decent amount of goalies right now, but I have literally never seen a scenario in the last 30 seasons and five years I've been here where there's been too many goalies.
