Vikings Rising

The Stockholm Vikings seem to have finally found their stride here in Season Forty-Seven. The team has found the win column in the last seven games, but thanks to early season struggles the team is still on the outside looking in on the VHL playoff race. The team the Vikings are chasing, the HC Davos Dynamo, currently have one game in hand, but they have lost seven of their last ten games. The Vikings understand that nothing is guaranteed this season, but a strong run before the long second half of the season could go a long way for the short-handed club. Today we’ll take a look the three players the club has been relying so heavily on during the first half of the season.

Lord Karnage:

The Season Forty-two draftee was Vikings property from day one, as he came to the team via the General Manager rule. Since stepping onto the ice back in Season Forty-two, Karnage has been one of the top forwards in the league. In the first game this season Karnage eclipsed the 500 points plateau in his VHL career, and with his totals so far this season Karnage sits in 126^th place all time for VHL scoring. This season of course if no different than any other as Karnage is the leader in almost all the offensive categories for the Vikings at the time of print. Karnage is an important cog in the Vikings playoff push, so look for the dominate power forward to up his game in the second half.

Jody 3 Moons:

The veteran forward is still showing his worth despite being in his second last season in the VHL. A once 100 point player with the New York Americans, 3 Moons hasn’t reached that mark since joining the Vikings, but still is an impact player year in and year out. Up until last season he was still a ninety-point per season player, and the way he is preforming this season, 3 Moons looks on pace to be back on the 90 point plateau. After last season’s zero penalty minute performance, 3 Moons is looking to grab the so called “pussy” award this season again with zero penalty minutes so far in thirty-four games. 3 Moons is a valued veteran forward that will be hanging up his skates for good soon, so everyone in the organization has high hopes for a playoff run for the center-man from Ukraine.

Severin Von Karma:

Von Karma signed a deal to remain in Stockholm for the Season Forty-Seven season, due in large part to the franchises ability to acquire goaltender Ariel Weinstein over the summer. Von Karma has played his entire career with the Vikings since entering the league back in Season Forty-Three. After being a second line forward for most of his career, he now has the chance to see first line minutes thanks to the shorthanded forward group in Stockholm. Von Karma hasn’t disappointed folks in Stockholm after his break-out ninety-seven point’s performance last season, as he picked up right where he left off with forty-nine points in thirty-four games this season. Look for Von Karma to continue to impress done the stretch for the Vikings, doing himself wonders for upcoming free agency talks.

Nice little write up.  Only a few things I noticed and I'll get to those in a second.  But as someone who does not follow the VHL, it's nice to read these types of things.

 

In the Lord Karnage write up, he is a dominant power forward, not dominate.

Jody 3 Moons is performing, typo says "preforming."

Von Karma: "done the stretch" should be "down the stretch"

 

Even with those errors, it was easy to read and well done.  Keep up the good work!
