Practice Makes You Better

The playoffs were over before Kai even knew about it. He knew what had happened and how it happened. It's rather upsetting losing to a team that really doesn't have many players even show up to practice. The more frustrating part is Yukon was loaded with talent. Of course we all know that most of us showed up while others didn't. I have already expressed my hate for how terrible I played during the playoffs. There was no excuse for that but I should have stepped it up. I feel like I will end up falling behind in due time. Something has got to give. Alright enough of this rant.

Kai Roberts is hoping to leave a lasing legacy and he really has to pick up his work during practice. He has been showing up and giving about 60% effort. While that is pretty good and he could become a solid player, that doesn't help him become one of the best. If he can start picking up the slack and actually putting more practice hours in, maybe he could turn out to be the player he wants to be. He talked to much over and over about wanting to imitate Davey Jones and his success. So far he has fallen short of the VHLm side of his career. Davey had a cup in his first VHLM season. Kai is sitting at home looking around like "What could I have done better?" Davey also managed to get his second VHLM cup in as many years. If Kai can make it up and help whichever team drafts him to get a cup, maybe it can help his career look better to start. Many people say the VHLM don't even matter when it comes to accomplishments and such. It does matter to Kai and it did matter to Davey. For Davey it set the tone that he was a winner and he was willing to do whatever he could to help the team win.

Kai needs to be a team player when he gets drafted and he has to step his game up. His stats during his first season (technically like 30ish games) was beyond atrocious. If he can manage to do a 180 on his stats it may help his draft stock out. Of course GM's look for practice hours and commitment as well. We all know in order to have good stats you also have to put in hours on the ice. So therefor practice = better stats. The draft is coming around the corner and Kai looks like he will be in the first round. It isn't certain of what position overall he will go but he is thinking in the top three maybe. Bobby Digital might even be the first overall selection in the VHLM draft. Bobby was his teammate in Yukon and even he did better. Of course that is no knock to Bobby's game, but they both came into Yukon at the same time. They could end up on the same team again which would be pretty cool. Right now Kai is heading out to the ice and about to get some hours in.

False.  And also therefore

Only other complaint is the first paragraph is in first person while the rest was in third person which kinda blew the flow.

All that aside,  it was a good read.  None of the errors were too big. Good luck next season and in the draft (assuming it hasn't happened yet). I think the VHLM matters so work hard and hit that cap early to start banking a ton of TPE.
