Da Trifecta 1,899 Posted March 7, 2016 Share Posted March 7, 2016 The Offseason During the off-season it seems that Kai Roberts has taken some time to go and visit his parents. He wanted to get in touch with his roots and just take some time off. He has been worrying about hockey too much and it seems to have consumed him. He just wants some time to sit down, relax and actually see his parents. He hasn't gone to see his parents in awhile because he has been playing game after game. The playoffs came around and he was certain that he was going to be able to see his parents after the playoffs ended. He had to wait around a bit in Yukon and he actually got away from there now. He has already contacted his mother and told her the good news about actually being able to come visit. The airplane he boarded was filled with lots of people. He purchased a first class ticket as to not be stuck in low class because he is a celebrity of course. So he sat down on the plane and he was able to get a chance to sleep. He knew it was going to be a long flight back to New Orleans and he wanted to be well rested. After he had awoken from his slumber he had still a few hours left. He decided to put his earphones in and he had gotten the chance to listen to some music. The food cart had came around and he had grabbed some food. After about three more hours on the plane, it had landed in New Orleans and he managed to navigate his way through the airport. He went over to the car rental place and the options he had to choose from was a brand new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, a 2016 Jeep Commander and a 2016 Dodge Ram. Now I know what you are thinking. A guy like Kai would be the egotistical fool who would take the Camaro and start racing up and down the streets with excitement. That is the farthest thing from his mind. He opted for the Jeep Commander and he just wanted a nice smooth ride to his parents house. Upon arriving at his parents house he was greeted at the door by both of his parents. They were both very ecstatic to see their son had arrived home. The last time they saw him was about two weeks before he left out to Yukon to go play with the Rush. They had sat down with him and he talked about the culture over there and how things are. He had informed them that he had taken quite a bit of photos and they could see them. His mother talked about making his favorite food which is Seafood Pasta. It included Shrimp, Clams, Scallops and Crab. It was his mothers own recipe and she added her own herbs and spices to make it different. Kai grew up eating that regularly and it seemed like they made it about once every couple weeks as to not get tired of eating it often. Let's just say that Kai was more then excited to actually have a home cooked meal for the first time in awhile. There were a few grammatical errors I saw, but overall a good article. I would've taken the Camaro and raced through the streets tbh.
