Sit Down With Parechkin

So, for my lack of wanting to write a damn thing at the moment, I figure I will just go into a little interview to fulfill my PT needs this week.

For the first time in a long time, the Toronto Legion are on top. GM Molholt has developed a team from the ground up, and made some key moves in the off-season to propel his squad to the top of the VHL standings. They stand tall with a record 21-2-1, with Legionites being top players in most statistical categories. One player who is especially feeling great right now is Toronto Legion captain, Zach Parechkin. Parechkin himself has 18 goals and 16 assists, for 34 points in 24 games.

Interviewer: As a player who has been a member of the Legion for a few seasons now, how does it feel to be on top?

ZP: It feels great, thanks. We have come a long way these past few seasons. I have been fortunate enough to be led by a great GM who obviously knows what he is doing. I am glad he drafted me those seasons ago, that is for sure. It's been amazing to see that our efforts have finally seemed to have paid off thus far.

Interviewer: What do you have to say about the newcomers to your team so far this season?

ZP: I really cannot say enough about them. Hans Wingate has lived up to the GOD name. He has been lights out for us, giving us a chance to win in basically every game. Francis York Morgan has been a complete stud on the blue line and has surpassed a lot of people's expectations, but not mine. I knew he was going to play phenomenal and have a career year. Obviously we aren't very far in, but I very much expect him to continue what he has been doing. Black Velvet has come into the VHL in strides as well, and has seemed to have picked up the VHL game with us. World B. Free, FYM, and Chuck have been great teachers for him and he has shown what he has done at the VHLM level can transfer up. Ben Zeptenbergs has been superb as well. He's been exactly what we have asked for on offense, and I can't wait to keep gaining chemistry. Jack Kowalski finally, he has been a menace out there the ice. Jack's enabled myself to not have to throw the body as much as I have before, and he's been destroying guys. They've been studs.

Interviewer: What are your thoughts about your own game, exactly?

ZP: There are definitely some areas that I would like to improve. Obviously I stated that Jack Kowalski has helped me to not have to hit, but I still feel that I need to be more physical. I want to be throwing the body more. There's also the issue of having only 18 goals. The leader has 20, so 18 is simply not enough. I should have 28 by now, so this is an atrocity.

-----------------------------------

Interviewer: How far do you think you can go this season with the Legion?

ZP: Oh, I think we can win it all. I think we have proved so far this season as Legionites that we have what it takes to win the Continental Cup. I want to win multiple cups in Toronto, and I intend on staying here for my career. Cups for days, baby. I think we can definitely do it this season, since we obviously have the personnel.

Review: Quick sucking up to Wingate :P. Nice read. A lot of people seem to be upset with their player's stats up to this point. Kind of hard to live up to all the expectations we set for ourselves it seems.
