Eggy216 136
It's been a difficult transition to the VHLM for Catalan defender Héctor de la Riva. Through eight games with the league's worst team, the Moscow Red Wolves, he's recorded a total of 3 points - all of those being powerplay assists. But de la Riva's not worried: "I'm not out there to score," he said. "I'm out there to keep the other team from scoring, and I've done pretty well at that. They can't score if they can't stay on their feet." De la Riva already has 28 hits on the season, coming out to about 3.5 hits per game - not too shabby for someone just starting out on his career. Unfortunately, his aggressive play seems to have made him a mark for referees around the league who are more than happy to throw the guy into the penalty box to cool down for a few minutes - he already has 14 PIMs on the season. He hasn't gotten into any fights yet, though I imagine it won't take him too long to piss someone off enough that the gloves will drop. But, despite the on-ice difficulties faced by Moscow this season, it hasn't been all bad - "I like my teammates," he said. "I'd love to get drafted by this team when the time comes."
