So as of last week I moved on from my post in the VHLM as GM of the storied Yukon Rush franchise, and it's with mixed feelings that I find myself moving on to pastures new. Obviously I'm thrilled to be moving on to a job as a VHL GM, especially of a team like the Titans. Helsinki is home to of the league's most celebrated organisations and it was really exciting to be able to step into that LR as the team's new general manager. I'm excited to see what Dadonov can accomplish with the Titans. I'd had him marked for a tough rookie season playing in the very competitive North American conference on Quebec, behind a young defense which usually doesn't lead to much success, however the move to Helsinki  means he'll get his first crack at the big league in the much weaker European conference, behind one of the best defensemen in the league in Hamilton. It seems the general consensus that Bogdan Podarok will win the rookie of the year award for S49 but I think Dadonov may be a real dark horse, and it'll be exciting to see how he can perform.

I really enjoyed the time I spent GMing Yukon, especially in S47. We had a great group of guys on the team including Higgins, Kendrick, STZ, gregy, Evans, gorlab and even DT towards the end (after we patched up our differences at least). It was a real disappointment that we didn't get a cup that season but ultimately I learned a lot about the whole GMing process and there's some real tangible concepts I picked up that I can apply to my new role in Helsinki. I'd like to wish Victor all the best as my successor there. I'm a great admirer of his new "first gens only" policy to GMing, and it'll be exciting to see how far he can take this concept and ultimately whether he can be successful with it. For now, I'm just excited for S49 to begin and to see what both Dadonov and the Titans can do. It's looking to be a very interesting season with a few different storylines to keep an eye on.
