Today is the day when the all-star game will be played. The whole game is a excellent event for the fans and like always, great way to raise some money for charity. It´s not yet decided where the money will be used, but last year the league used the money to help smaller communities  by building hockey rinks and buying hockey gear.

We here in ´Hockey and Cakes´-magazine like to help out as much as possible, so we decided to do a big interview for our website that will help to promote the whole event and there is also instructions on how you can donate money and your time. One of the most popular players in this year all-star event could not make it, so we had to interview Jorma Ruutu from the New York Americans.

Hey there Jorma! Feeling excited about the All-Star game?

Jr: Hey, little bit yea, I did not sleep that much last night, but luckily the game is a friendly game, so playing tired should not be a problem. Even though this event is for fun and for charity, Im still going to throw my body around little bit, I´m sure some of the guys wont like it too much, but this is a excellent opportunity to get under the skin of some of the players that we are going to face in the playoffs.

I think it´s safe to say that this year has been the best for you, do you agree?

Jr: I do,it´s been easy for me to play and get results when the whole team is just so talented offensively,  all I have to do is to try and get open and I know the puck will soon be coming towards me.

You think that the Americans can translate that good regular season into good playoff performance?

Jr: Absolutely, we have a excellent team this year and a real chance to bring the cup back to New York. The whole team is working together to make sure we are ready when the playoffs start.

Lets talk about the All-Star event in general, what does it mean to you that you can be here?

Jr: It means a lot,  these games are the ones you dream about when you are younger, or at least I remember watching the all-star games when I was a kid and hoping I could be there some day. Now, I´m here again and it feels great, especially after a season like this.

Will this be the last All-Star game in your career?

Jr: Who knows, more than likely yes, but I´m going to work extra hard during the off-season to make sure I can be here again next year. All-Star game and the retiring after the season is done sounds pretty cool. Means you can go out while being on the top and not because of injuries or other reasons.

Thanks Jorma, good luck with everything! Tell Molholt we will never forgive him for not having the time to answer our questions.
