Free agency?  A contender?  The next keg of beer?  Likely the latter.  As middling forward Sean Blacker closes out his fourth season in the Victory Hockey League, one has to ask, what does he want to get out of his last few years?  "After training pretty hard in the minors, I took a pretty significant break that likely has derailed any chance of me becoming a prominent player in this league.  Now in the midst of what the league considers your 'prime', I've become comfortable with the idea that I'm probably better suited to play as a role player on a contender," Blacker explained to the media.  "With my talents depreciating in pretty short order, I'd like to make the most of what I have at this time."

Sean played a pivotal role on Seattle's first and second lines as a center, establishing himself in his first professional season as a quality face-off specialist.  Finishing seventh amongst all rookies in points, Blacker understands that it will take more than just taking face-offs to get in the good graces of next year's contenders.  "My passing has not been my strong suit as long as I've been in both the VHLM and VHL.  I intend on working on that quite a bit over this off-season.  Perhaps some strength and conditioning, as well," Sean confirmed .

This is not to say that Sean will commit fully to free agency.  Seattle has been enjoyable thus far and he enjoys the pacific northwest.  "If it's in both mine and Seattle's best interests to continue to play next season, so be it.  I'm not looking for the right money, I'm looking for the right fit," Blacker finished.

So a contender that just happens to have an upcoming hole at center and room for a lower TPE player, eh? :tor:

Define irony :D
