:vhl:Two Horse Two Way Race:vhl:

Each season the VHL hands out their annual individual and team awards at the conclusion of the year. One of the awards handed out is the Scott Boulet Trophy, which is awarded to the player deemed the best two-way forward in the VHL. Since Lord Karnage took home four straight Boulet trophies, the award has switched hands three times in the last three seasons. The Boulet Trophy always seems to have the same names on the ballots year in and year out and this year seems to be shaping up no differently as we enter the stretch run before the playoffs. Although there could possibly be more names or different players step up their offensive and physical game to see their names added to the ballot, today we’ll look at the two names we believe will be on the ballot sent out to VHL General Managers come seasons’ end.

The Season Forty-Nine Scott Boulet Trophy winner finds himself in the running again this season, which should be no surprise to anyone that has ever followed the career of Parechkin. After winning the Season Forty-Five Matt Bentz Trophy for the top VHLM two-way forward, Parechkin jumped into the VHL and put up 300 hits in his rookie season. Since then Parechkin has gone on to put up 300 plus hits in three of the next four VHL seasons and it looks like he’ll be on his way to a third straight 300 hit season this year. Parechkin has also put up great offensive numbers while going along his way laying the smack down as well. Since entering the league in Season Forty-Six, Parechkin has been able to keep up an offensive pace that saw him score seventy-eight points or higher on top of his physical play. Will this be the season that Parechkin takes his crown back as the league’s top two-way forward?

:que:John Sleeman (50GP, 36G, 31A, 67PTS, +9, 221HIT, 106SB):que:

Sleeman is the defending Scott Boulet winner and with the way he is playing currently he is looking to have his name etched on the trophy again in Season Fifty-One. Sleeman has been holding down the fort in Quebec this season with the team in a rebuild, but some recent acquisitions from the Helsinki Titans should help the team while also helping Sleeman increase his numbers. Although Sleeman didn’t enter the league with all the skills that a two-way forward would possess, over the course of the past two seasons he has turned his game into something that opponents fear. With a career high in hits of 134 set in Season Forty-Nine, Sleeman showed off the impressive work he put in during the off-season, as he put up 345 hits last season. Sleeman will look to continue his pace and hope the voting will go his way come seasons’ end.

Review: This should be a fun race to watch at the end of the year. Although I believe Parechkin has it in the bag because of the monstrous offensive year he is having, I have no doubt that Sleeman is going to start playing better with Quebec recent acquisitions, and I wonder if GM's are going to take into account that he was on a rebuilding squad for most of the season. Very informative, good formatting on this one. I wish it was a little longer, but it meets the minimum and thats just a compliment to your writing skills. Good Job
