Ravenwing credits pseudo-turnaround to Cathy

With a few 3 goal games in their recent history, the New York Americans are hitting something of a stride. Having been shut out 17 times in 56 games, or 30 percent of the time, and having scored a paltry 60 goals so far this season, scoring 8 goals in their 3 most recent games looks like a major accomplishment. Center Essian Ravewning has a goal and an assist in those three games, but doesn't credit the relative offensive explosion to any changes on the ice, either in game or in practice.

 

"I am an avid reader," Ravenwing said in the post game press conference following the American second consecutive defeat of the Helsinki Titans. "Obviously in a city like New York, there are some fantastic libraries, and I derive great pleasure from visiting the different locations and exploring. Well, at one branch, down near the East River, I saw this sign outside the drop box, and I knew I needed to meet Cathy."

 

 

 

 

 

 

"So it turns out that Cathy is a delightful girl, 24 years old, quiet but quite charming," Ravenwing continued. "She really does love ferrets, and I've always found them fascinating, so it was a nice icebreaker. She didn't recognize me, but she was familiar with the team and told me she always wanted to go to a game. So I arranged for her to get a ticket to the first game against Helsinki, and she had a great time. After winning the first game and checking in with her, I got her a ticket for the second game against Helsinki, and we won again."

 

The hunt is on now for the mysterious Cathy, the apparent good luck charm for the New York Americans.
