Tonight’s Season 52 VHLM Draft is the first chance we’ll have to take a good look at the next crop of players that will be entering the Season 53 VHL Entry Draft.  Some players have established themselves as the top players available in the draft, and German-born center Lukas Müller appears to be one.  Mock drafts have predicted him going just about anywhere in the first round, and nobody really knows how well he’ll play after he was underwhelming in his time with the Bratislava Watchmen last season.  But the young Müller, outspoken as always, has given his thoughts on the upcoming draft - and he’s got some strong opinions.

“If I don’t get picked first overall, this draft is a sham,” said Müller in a recent interview.  “I don’t care what the so-called experts think, I’m the best player in this draft.  That’s not even a question.  I’ve even heard some people talking about GMs needing to think about what positions they need, where their teams are the weakest - that’s just ridiculous.  When I’m on the ice, I make the team better.  That’s just how it works.  Nobody else in this draft can do that like I can.”

Since the interview, Müller's representatives have declined to comment on the situation, only saying, "Lukas is looking forward to the upcoming draft as well as where his future lies in the VHLM."  We'll have to wait and see if he can back up his bold words on the ice.
