A Legion Xmas Story

The clatter of a hundred dishes was mixed in with the chatter of a hundred people at Luigi’s Bistro. Snowflakes were whirling all around outside, zipping along in every which way except in a linear fashion, much like the waiters and waitresses. The Bistro had erected a stunning Christmas Tree at the entrance and decorated the walls and ceiling with festive baubles, mistletoe, and wreaths. From his booth, Zach @DollarAndADream looked up across the table at Max @Molholt and smiled as he flashed a lovingly glance to his wife beside him.

 

 

“This was a wonderful idea Max,” he said, putting his arm around his wife. “You and Samantha are just a blast of fun! Why didn’t we think of doing a double date like this before?”

 

Max cast a quick look to Samantha’s empty wine glass. Grabbing the bottle of Chardonnay, he started refilling everyone’s glasses and replied:

 

“You know, it’s crazy to think that we’ve been teammates for 6 years and have never thought to do this. It’s been great – and Debbie it’s nice to finally meet you in person so I can put a name to the face. Zach barely shuts up about you. Don't worry though, it’s all nice things – just gets annoying when I’m trying to take my pre-game shit and he’s leaning against my stall talking about you – it just puts me off, you know?”

 

 

Debbie snorted her mouthful of wine into her napkin. The whole table erupted in good cheer and laughter. Outside, the magical snow fell swiftly and peacefully, blissfully unaware or incapable of feeling the Christmas spirit in Luigi’s Bistro, and its contributing role in the magic of the moment.
