Tagger 2,722
So the World Cup is nearly upon us and I was asked to create the player tracker for the upcoming tournament. You can find the tracker HERE, and with little time remaining for me to submit my PT, it only makes sense to do a media article relating to what I’ve just spent an hour or so making. So, here’s three position/nationality combos you should consider for your next player: Note on the tracker: Red indicates players who may or may not be eligible for World Cup at admin discretion. Jacob and Shawn Gretzky also haven’t selected a nationality so are absent from the tracker for the time being. Goalie – Western Europe While nearly every team in the World Cup has had one tournament over the last ten seasons where they’ve had to rely on a young goalie with barely any, if any, VHL experience, Team Western Europe haven’t had that problem in a long while thanks to the terrific and long-tenured Hans Wingate and Greg Clegane. However, during that time where they’ve been suiting up for Team Western Europe, there’s been very few young players coming through the ranks to replace them. In fact, the only current ones are Revan Gotze and Alexander Wolf, both of which are recently created players with no additional TPE added to them as of yet. If you have confidence in your ability to maintain activity and want a chance at leading a World Cup team for years to come, playing in net for Team Western Europe may be your best opportunity to do that. Defense – Western Europe While there are a few teams that could use some good up and coming talent at the defenseman position, no team needs them more for the future than Team Western Europe. With only 5 eligible defensemen this tournament, Team Western Europe already only just have enough defensemen to field a full team. In two seasons time though, three of those will have retired (Jeff and Phil Hamilton plus World B Free) and one other will be in their final season of regression (David Hamilton). In fact, considering that Team World is pretty stacked in the defensemen department, this may be enough to see a return of Team Europe for the Season 54 World Cup. If that isn’t the case though, if you plan on making a defenseman with your next player, then Team Western Europe is the team you’ll want to represent. Forwards – Scandinavia Right now, Team Scandinavia are only just able to scrape a team of VHL forwards together. Next season, they may find it even more difficult as Max Molholt, Niels Skovgaard, Aleksi Koponen and Jory Rose will all be gone by the time the Season 54 tournament comes around. While they do have young players coming up like Sven Wolf and Theo Axelsson, the remaining players are predominantly welfare players who sporadically visit the site, so a player with high earning potential may look at this as a great opportunity to jump right into a World Cup squad. FacePuncher 1,343
Review: No! Western Europe has had their great run of having some of the greatest VHL players all in one group! It's time that all changed! It's high time for Western Europe to fall! Bring on the age of Team World and the rebirth of Team USA! Also, did something happen with Scandinavia? Last cup I remember they only had Akerfeldt and an inactive 19 TPE goalie. Tell everyone to create for them instead of Western Europe which still has Sandro this year! 508 words Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/37095-claimed3-countryposition-combinations-you-should-consider-playing-at-with-your-new-player/#findComment-405162 Share on other sites
