Devise 4,475
When I accepted the GM position of the Americans I did it under the full intent that my next player was going to be as all out as possible, and probably be my last player where I go all out. I decided seasons before that I wanted to just create a player similar to how everyone else does it, you know typical good skating, passing, scoring, the boring ass attributes. I decided to come up with an older unknown hockey legend back story so that instead of challenging myself with player build it was more an experiment in the unread self narrative we give our own players. Then Project Two happened and I needed a goalie more than I needed a forward so I created M.T. Power knowing full well that I wouldn't have to whine and complain about being a goalie when I was able to create a second player. Which brings us to now. The legacy I have as a member here is a very...for lack of a better word lets say odd one. I would call it complete shit yet my players find themselves in situations to gain a decent number of team wins, I have good fortune with side things like the World Cup, and then of course I've had 3 Continental Cup wins as GM. But it's still a very odd player history and it's a narrative I often have driven myself. Not investing with skating with Laich, having Rift fuck over CGY and two-face only to early retire on Quebec, forcing Humbert to change positions for the better of my team. I've rarely tested FA and due to the circumstances of me being a GM with pretty much all my players at some point it's set me up to where I am. Verner Reinholdt is going to be the most legitimate shot at making a Hall of Fame player I've ever made. TPE earning stuff of course is all fine and dandy but even player build wise. It'll be interesting but I haven't actually set any predefined expectations. I'm going to ride his eight season career out, hope to hit some of the VHL teams I've never had the pleasure to visit, so Davos, Helsinki, Toronto, Stockholm and sort of Seattle (Pajari played his last season with them but doesn't really count) be on the look out I will enjoy playing for you if you draft me. I think I'm going to test free agency with him at least once seriously, but it all depends on where he gets drafted and what happens. But other than that I really am just hoping for the best, and I think that is all you can do in the VHL. Maybe this player will finally grant me some sim luck, maybe I'll finally be able to say I'm not all scrubs + early retired Rift, or maybe he'll be another in a list of the odd narrative that is my player legacy. Either way I'm looking forward to this last fun ride. It's odd because it's not as if I don't know how much more I have to give the VHL, since in so many ways I"m just starting with these two players. But I do have a sense that after Verners career I'll be maintaining in a BoG type capacity focusing all my efforts there and using welfare more primarily. Oh and to all the people who constantly complained about my damn username....your welcome it's finally changed. But the attack of the three + paragraph posts is on all your hands. *For V.
