All-Time Leader Enters Final Season of His Contract

Recommended Posts

It’s not often that an all-time great finds his way into Free Agency, but that could end up being the case after Season 54 concludes as the current all-time leader in save percentage Edwin Threencarnacion enters the final season of his rookie contract. Threencarnacion, currently atop of that record by a comfortable 0.009% margin, is said to be happy at Quebec and would have no problem returning to play for the team in S55. However, if Quebec were still to be interested in the services of Threencarnacion, he would re-sign with the team as a Free Agent rather than accepting an extension mid-season. The reasons for this appear to center around Quebec potentially competing for a Continental Cup in Season 55 as Threencarnacion, who would be on a whopping four-million-dollar contract, would prefer to have freedom to pick his own team in Free Agency rather than be traded to another team for what would likely be a minor return should Quebec no longer be able to afford his services while simultaneously competing.

Entering this season, Threencarnacion is currently eligible to start 17 games in Season 54 as per his guidelines detailed in a previous article (He’s allowed Quebec an additional eight starts for playing him as he wanted over the last 2 seasons, plus an extra start after acquiring PIM Champion Pavel Komarov) but he’s likely to remain at eight starts as he did this season in order to help team-mate Apollo Skye with his award winning aspirations.

Threencarnacion is more then welcome to re-sign in Quebec if he still likes us. We'd also love for that back-up cap relief rule to come into play next season.
