"It is recorded that the Greek historian Herodotus once wrote, 'It is better by noble boldness to run the risk of being subject to half the evils we anticipate than to remain in cowardly listlessness for fear of what might happen,'" quoted New York Americans center Essian Ravenwing in his post-game press conference following the Americans game 7 victory over the Stockholm Vikings. "When I was drafted by the Vikings, I had anticipated leading them to multiple championships in my career in Stockholm; alas, the timing was poor for the Vikings, and I was traded to a suitor with an aggressive plan. It was a bold move by the Americans to acquire what was functionally the majority of the Vikings roster at the time. There is a kind of poetry to the way this series played out, and I am proud to have been able to contribute to the bold vision."

"Bruce Lee said, '‎The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus'," Ravenwing continued. "The goal for the Americans was to rebound from a difficult period of time as quickly as possible, and the focus of everyone in this organization, from management to food vendors, is at an unprecedented level. I fully expect to be talking to you from this same position next season, and the season after that."
