Kendrick 4,741 Posted May 18, 2017 Share Posted May 18, 2017 The VHL Draft Lottery results are less than an hour old and we know one thing; the Cologne Express can add a big piece to their roster for the foreseeable future. Calgary is "Trusting the Process" but the process seems to be going rather slow. The Wranglers chose to stick with Jacob last year and trade the #1 prospect in the draft, Markus King. The Wranglers love their choice and say they wouldn't have changed it if they could go back. That's added fuel for Markus King who went on to have a solid season in the VHL. However, now the Cologne Express have a shot at drafting someone who could help out King. Express have Lyle Smallwood coming through the ranks and possibly moving up next year if the franchise feels he is VHL ready. Now if they added Felix Savard the Cologne Express have 3 main pieces to build around and all within 1 year of each others draft years. Ask Rowe is still in the Express system and with some more coating might make it to the Express roster at some point. Forwards are an area the Cologne Express will need to address though and they have the draft picks to trade out for help.
