*Fuck you Germany!*

Since Riga was eliminated from playoffs, the entire season turned into a boredom for me. The Helsinki victory made it even worse - I was legitimaltely waiting for the rare Stockholm and Quebec final matchup, because I love when an outsiders are getting their minute of fame. Helsinki was already a successful franchise with 7 cups before S54, so the final result was meh for me. The only guys I can congratulate, are Astrid Moon and Daryl Dortch due to S52 Bratislava.

So the season is over and the off-season started with almost nothing. Except for the World Cup that has started today. Usually, I'm not interested in these type of events and this time isn't an exception. There were times when I was more involved into the WC - I was GM'ing the Team World in S48 and Team Merc's in S52. Needless to say that I didn't get any medals during my ''tenure'', although I was close to bronze against Canada in S48, but I decided to put Holik in net instead of Weinstein, which resulted in the loss. These were fun times, we even managed to amass 52 posts in the S48 thread, which was a good result. The S52 WC was a little bit boring than it was 4 seasons ago: some of Merc team members were inactive by that time ( including @NUCK ) and I had no drive for another active thread. Also, we lost in quaterfinal game against...Canada (fuck em' I guess) and I just stopped to watch that event.

And now we have a S54 WC. Ironically, two of my players were separated from each other (''thanks'' to @punkhippie) - Petenis plays for the Team World while Krīgars was picked up by @Fire Hakstol to Merc's. Seems like they're not really interested in this thing either as they are doing pretty much nothing and they are just playing hockey to prolong their season. But at least Mercenaries managed to get a win against...Canada. Seriosly, what's up with Canadiens against the Merc's? Another interesting fact - Krīgars is playing with Leblanc, just like they were doing in Riga last season. And somehow Freddy managed to make it into the first and third lines, but maybe it's even better for the team as MAL is feeling awesome sitting behind my second player and having 3 points in 2 games.

So I have two chances for the medal. Probably I'll get at least a bronze medal, which could be the first for any of my players. I can't say which team has better chances for that as I'm not watching to that event closely, but I guess the team World is looking better at the paper. But the Merc's has MVP Moon, so I'll just be hoping for the success. And it would be somewhat interesting to see the World vs Mercenaries battle: the veteran Petenis against two young guns in Krīgars and Leblanc. Riga should love this for sure.

And only now I managed to pass the 500 word mark - the off-season indeed is boring, at least for now.

6+3 TPE goes to Petenis.

I'm fine with Helsinki win, I would have preferred Quebec obviously and then probably Stockholm to break the streak. But another 3-peat was the last thing the league needed so I'm content.
