Smarch 3,210
Veteran Corner Veteran Corner is back again for another week, although a little later than even we expected. After taking a short week hiatus early in the month, word of a interview being posted for the return of the mag has gotten us excited over here at Veteran Corner. Again this week we'll look t players outside their rookie contracts and see how is doing well in this young mans game. Essian Ravenwing (New York) Ravingwing hasn't been mentioned as much as his New York team-mates over the past few season, but he has been as good as Diane Maxwell and Unassisted. The one thing that Ravenwing has yet to conquer during his fix seasons to date in the VHL is cross the century mark in points. Now with eleven games remaining on the Americans schedule and Ravenwing sitting at well over a point per game with eight-six points in sixty-one games, he looks to well on his way to a 100 plus point campaign. Ravenwing has been centering the first line this season playing alongside Phil Shankly and Maxwell, something that seems to have given lift to the Season Fifty draftee. With the playoffs looking to be a uphill battle this season against the Quebec Muete, Ravenwing will need to continue his scoring rate in the post-season to help give the Americans a chance. Theo Axlesson (Helsinki) Theo Axelsson is another Season Fifty draftee that appears on his way to his first 100 point season. Axelsson was coming off a career year last season with fifty-two goals and forty-six assists, something that looked to motivate that Vasteras native as he entered Season Fifty-Five. Axelsson has turned in a good season playing beside Franchise Cornerstone this year, with thirty-nine goals and fifty assists in fifty-nine games for the Titans. The Titans find themselves in a tight race for the number one spot in the European Conference, and Axelsson has been doing his part to push the team ahead of the Vikings for the race for first. Last season Axelsson took home his first Scott Boulet trophy as the leagues top two-way forward, and while he doesn't have the 300 plus hits he had last season, he will definitely be in the running again at the conclusion of Season Fifty-Five. With one Continental Cup to his name so far, Axelsson will need his best moving forward to add his name to the cup once again. Rhett DeGrath (Stockholm) Rhett DeGrath is at it again in Season Fifty-Five for the Stockholm Vikings. DeGrath has been the back-bone for the Vikings since joining the team in Season Fifty-Two, but in the past few season DeGrath has really been playing at a different level. DeGrath put up fifty-eights wins last season, something he wont match this season, but his save percentage and goals against average look to be headed toward career numbers as they currently sit at .940 and 1.28 respectively. With the Vikings playing second fiddle last season to the Titans, DeGrath and the Vikings are in another dog fight for first, something they don't want to lose again. With Degrath at the top of his game in Season Fifty-Five, can the Vikings ride a hot goalie to the cup come playoff time?
