Magnus Huuskonen was the Season 18 VHL Entry Draft "Mr. Irrelevant" he was the last player selected. Magnus was drafted by the Seattle Bears with the 32nd overall pick.

In Season 19, Magnus was sent down tot he VHLM to play for the Saskatoon Wild. The Wild had a very nice season with 83 points on the year which was 4th in the entire VHLM and they made the playoffs by 21 points over 3rd in the NA Conference. Magnus had a decent season with 16 goals and 33 assists for 49 points. It was a nice season for the rookie in the VHLM. In the playoffs, the Wild would play the Minot Gladiators. In a thrilling 7 game series, the team from Minot moved onto the finals. Magnus scored 2 goals and assisted on 3 goals for 5 points.

In Season 20, the VHLM underwent a transformation from the send downs and call ups from the the VHL to its own entity. So a league wide draft was held and Magnus was drafted by the Bern Royals. In Bern, Magnus had a very nice season with 9 goals and 37 assists for 46 points. Bern enjoyed a great season with 92 points which was 3rd in the VHLM. In the playoffs, Bern beat Oslo in surprising fashion in just 5 games. The finals were more surprising with a sweep over Brampton. Magnus is a Founders Cup champion.

In Season 21, Bern regressed to last in the VHLM in a first to worst showing. Magnus however, had a career season with 17 goals and 50 assists for 67 points on the season. Bern was 59 points out of the final playoff spot.

Bern improved in Season 22 to 6th in the VHLM just 8 points back of the final playoff spot. Magnus kept improving each season to 19 goals and 54 assists for 73 points. It was a career high so far in his career and it seemed Magnus may have now out grown the VHLM. It remains to be seen if he can make a VHL team in the future or if he is a VHLM lifer.

Bern continued its climb in the standings this time to 2nd in the VHLM with 105 points. They were tied with the Vasteras Iron Eagles for 1st but had more wins so they had the tie breaker. Magnus scored 15 goals and assisted on 51 goals for 66 points. It was another fine season for Magnus. Bern would play Vasteras in the first round and after 6 games, the Iron Eagles would move onto the finals. Magnus had scored 1 goal and assisted on 3 goals for 4 points.

After sitting out the beginning of the season and trying out for a VHL team, Magnus decided to return the the VHLM and signed with the Minot Gladiators. He had a down season after missing training camp and the first 10 games. Magnus only scored 7 goals and assisted on 22 goals for 29 points. Minot finished 4th in the VHLM but missed the playoffs because two of the higher teams were from the NA Conference.

In his final season, Magnus returned to Minot. Magnus scored 13 goals and assisted on 60 goals for 73 points. However Minot was not a very good team this season with just 52 points. This was 7th in the VHLM. It was bitter end to a good VHLM career for Magnus.
