The first round of the playoffs in Europe pits the HC Davos Dynamo, seeking their first cup in nearly 20 seasons, against the Helsinki Titans, seeking their third cup in as many seasons. If the regular season is any indication, the Titans will be coming in as the underdogs, as they finished well out of the race for the top spot in the Conference, while Davos lost out on the first seed by just three points. A lack of contributors on offense outside of Franchise Cornerstone and Theo Axelsson has been the story of the Titans season, with those two accounting for over half of the teams goals.

 

Davos holds the edge in the head-to-head this season, with the margin being even better (3-1) since acquiring defenseman Guntis Petenis. Those three wins include two shutouts and a one-goal game. While Diana Maxwell is Davos' leading scorer during the season series, she has not tallied a goal against the Titans since the acquisition of Petenis. Franchise Cornerstone meanwhile has been consistent against the Dynamo, with at least one goal in five of the games in this matchup.
