Player: Colton Rayne

Height: 6'4"

Weight: 225lbs

S56 Team: The Las Vegas Aces :veg:

Position: D

Play Style: Defensive Defenseman

S56 Goals:16

S56 Assists: 56

S56 +/-: +44 (League leader)

S56 PIM: 116

S56 Shots Blocked: 113

S56 Power Play Points: 29

S56 Playoff Goals: 2

S56 Playoff Assists: 13

S56 Playoff +/-: +15

S56 Playoff PIM: 22

S56 Playoff Shots Blocked: 14

S56 Playoff Power Play Points: 4

Projected Draft Position: 9-14

Breakdown:  Colton Rayne is your prototype defenseman.  In recent years, the game has changed to focus on speed and skill.  Some larger players have been left in the dust, but Rayne is what the future of defensive defenseman is going to be.  Rayne uses his size to his advantage and has shut down top opponents all year.  He was a +15 with 15 points, 4 of those coming on the power play, in the playoffs this year, so you know that he shows up defensivly when the pressure is on.  What Rayne has lacked in speed, he makes up for with his exceptional passing abilities.  Rayne makes crisp first passes on the rush and knows how to keep the cycle alive in the offensive zone.  Look for Rayne to anchor the blue line next to a top flight offensive defenseman in the future.   Rayne's work ethic reflects favorably on his draft position.  Currently ranked as going 11th in the VHL draft, we can see a team taking a slight reach in the late first round and scooping up this defensive gem.

Everytime you do a piece of writing I get jelly. Why didn't I think of that this is genius.

Write a piece to persuade why Gudnason II should join Beaviss in Ottawa instead of TheLastOlympian in Yukon, Spade in Vegas, or GooningItUp in Sasky.
