Shawn Brodeur was drafted by the Cologne Express in the S57 VHL Entry Draft. He jumped right in new for the struggling franchise in Season 57 and to be fair with just Chase Keller of note on the team, he did pretty well in just his first season. Brodeur finished with a record of 21-36-6 with a 3.09 G.A.A and a .920 save percentage. His save percentage was 6th in the league which is around the middle of the pack but as a rookie who faced 3rd most shots, it was a pretty decent season. With three rookies getting over 100 points, Brodeur was not a candidate for goaltender of the season. However, any other season I would assume he would be a candidate. Brodeur also had 6 shutouts on the season. In the end, it was a nice start for his career and can only expect them to get better in the coming seasons. Can't wait to see what the Express look like after they add more reinforcements to Brodeur and Keller.
