Rhett DeGrath and Torstein Ironside are two of the better goalies in the VHL today and bot have over 1000 practice hours. However, DeGrath is on the verge of elimination while Ironside and the Legion have been sent packing. DeGrath though has solid stats with a .939 save percentage and a 1.66 G.A.A. However, game 7's are a whole another beast so it remains to be seen if DeGrath and the Americans can beat the Titans in Game 7 and move onto play the Bears.

Ironside on the other hand had a very bad playoff showing with a .892 save percentage and a 3.28 G.A.A. Ironside really did falter in the playoffs and may have cost his team the series. It is unfortunate because the Legion were in a great position to win with the core they have but with some retirements it remains to be seen what happens in the future.

It is kinda funny if Helsinki wins and we have a Seattle vs Helsinki finals because both these teams were seen as too old and trying to hold onto the old core to long as they were good but not good enough to win but also not bad enough to suck and rebuild and stuck in the middle. Here we are though almost on the eve of a Seattle | Helsinki finals.

Ironside got fucked both this year and last year in the playoffs. I'm not bothering with a goalie ever again.

Goalies can be the most rewarding position to play but also the most frustrating. The randomness of STHS always seems like it hits them the hardest.
