Exlaxchronicles 415
Are The Meute Ready? -------------------------------------- Well here we are over half way with 46 games in this season and at this point the team is second last to the bottom feeder team the Toronto Legion. They are sitting at 13 wins this compared to Toronto's meager 4. Although not a major jump from last years anemic 6 wins, its still a positive sign. Due to the acquisition of Muller, Fook You and Dragomir the club added some offensive talent to bolster their lack of scoring. Muller is clearly the set up man tallying 40 helpers and potting 13 goals in the process. Dragomir leads the team with 26, and right on his tail is Fook Yu with 25. Kiaskov brings up the rear with 18. Muller will end up with around 20 goals and 83 points if he plays the full season. Dragomir should have the same numbers points wise with around 81, but his goal totals will be double that of Muller with 40-41. Fook Yu could end up with 39-40 goals and about 73-74 points. Kiaskov could pot around 28-30 goals and about 65 points. As of late Lavar Ball has picked up his game and he can reach the 15 goal and 45-50 points mark. Let's hope he continues this upward trend because due to some recent changes, the Meute's offense for next year could be hard pressed to acquire goals. These recent changes see defenseman Warlock leaving for Davis for a 3rd and forward Elias Sobek. This trade leaves an already anemic defence even worse off, not to mention Keaton Louth wanting for the greener pastures of Calgary. Let's hope the picks and Sobek pan out for Quebec. Also leaving as quick as they've arrived are hulking forward Fook who jumped ship to NY for a 2nd rounder in S61 and set up man Muller who crossed over to Helsinki for a 2nd in S62. Seems GM Beave is stocking the shelves with future prospects. Only time will tell if these moves pay off. That leaves Ball, Dragomir and Kiaskov to carry the offensive weight with Benni gton playing a supporting role. Sobek also has some sniping ability so let's hope he can add some offense to the mix. He has a respectable 8 goals and 27 points this season with Davos. And that leaves defenceman Labrunette leading charge of the back end. Right now all eyes are on two of the four prospects being RW Bryce Zhields and G Tristan Iseault. Zhields at this point in time appears to have some scoring ability and Quebec could always use another sniper. Iseault looks to be a number one starter for the Meute as he seems to be on an upward climb with his progress. The club sorely needs a legitimate number one goalie, and he appears to have what it takes. Huge forward Vahjalmsson at 6'8" is a massive forward who seems to be jelling into a defensive type forward the team could use, especially when it comes to the PK and checking other teams top forwards. Lastly is goalie Asispi whom although isn't as well rounded as Iseault, he does have some of the quickness as Tristan so he appears to fit in as a regular back up. So it appears Quebec will still have some growing pains next season but it all comes down to how the current prospects develop and how well GM Beavis drafts for the future in S61, S62 and beyond. 582words. diamond_ace 3,114
If both guys continue to develop, you could always deal Asipi to whatever team is kind of mid tier at the time and doesn't need the then-700/800 TPE guy (that presumably Iseult could get to). I mean rather than sitting an active guy as a backup if a starter role is out there Exlaxchronicles 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/49307-are-the-meute-ready/#findComment-522923 Share on other sites
