Axelsson Traded

After a pedestrian rookie season that saw Otto Axelsson put up 33 points in 72 games, he was included in a trade that sent reigning MVP Gabriel Mcallister to the HC Davos Dynamo. One has to wonder if Axelsson's value was low after his development stalled or if his disappointing jump to the VHL was to blame. Either way, the trade is over and done with the Seattle Bears selected Jóhannes Vilhjálmsson 4th overall and appear ready to move on from the maligned Swede.

 

Axelsson was approached for a quote after the trade and this to say: "Uh, you know never easy being traded and already two times I get shipped to the new team. I know not if I am good for Calgary but I thought for sure I am great for Seattle, now I back to Europe and close to home and now I want to be good for Dynamo. The team has been very kind to me so far and I work on things with the coach. I am better defensively and I hope to take next step offensively and make Davos look smart for getting me."
