Exlaxchronicles 415
A New Beginning For Kiaskov --------------------------------------------- Coming into this season David Kiaskov was feeling the pressure of Boeser retiring from the Americans, as word had it was he was brought in to replace the high scoring offensive forward. Kiaskov had a decent season last year with the Quebec Meute putting up 76 points in 72 games, on a club that lacked scoring. Looking to fill the void of Boeser, GM Spade took a chance on the pesky right winger hoping that he could contribute as well, if not better than he performed with the Meute. The forward was excited to get a chance to play with New York knowing full well he was joining a well stocked team full of talent. As thrilled as he was though Kiaskov knew he had a big set of shoes to fill and on top of that, coming to a team full of stars was intimidating. When asked during a sports press interview with a local independent radio station about how he felt having change of scenery, the winger stated... " Well I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I left a great organization' whom I've been with since turning pro, so it was a little hard packing my bags. But now that I'm here I'm raring to go and am hoping things gel for me on the ice and in the locker room". "And I'm not going to lie, there's pressure for me to perform, especially playing with skilled team mates like these guys' ". " GM Spade put his faith in me and I wanna be able to prove that I can hang with the big boys', so hopefully I won't let the team down". "I put a lot of pressure on myself to be a positive contributor, and I don't like not living up to my expectations". Already into their first game, the Americans haven't seemed to miss a beat with 4 - 2 win over the Riga Reign. Kiaskov was held pointless in his inaugural game with the club centering the first line with Alex McKnight and Chase Keller. He ended up playing 13:04 minute's during the game and spent 2:23 on the power play. David was also a respectable 9/13 in the face off circle, while drawing a two minute minor for holding. He was up to his usual form laying two big hits, and also getting two shots on net. After the game Kiaskov was asked how well he thought he performed and the forward said " Well I was nervous as hell playing between those two, but after my first shift I felt a lot more relaxed". "I was definitely out of synch and I feel its going to take a few games to find chemistry with the guys', but I'll get there". " What I need to do is try and dial back my emotion's when I'm out there, as I tend to take dumb penalties at times". "And I was the only one who ended up being a -1 on the score sheet, so I need to work on being more disciplined". " Hopefully I'll garner more ice time as the season progress's and GM Spade gains more confidence in my playing abilities". There you have it folks, a look into the New York American's latest addition to the club. Look for more updates on the latest news coming your way. DollarAndADream 3,357
Review: It's weird looking at this, for some reason to my eyes even after reviewing so many point tasks, it doesn't look like 500 words. Obviously it is, however. I've said it before, Kiaskov should have had a better season! He has the skill set for sure! Exlaxchronicles 415
I wholeheartedly agree! After my last season with Quebec in comparison to this one with NY, its pretty much the same scoring stats but over all I performed much better on my previous club. Maybe because I played a more predominate role with Quebec. The talent on NY is much deeper.
