Tagger 2,722
VHL haven't had the best of luck in their first year in the league since contraction. The 50 and under point tallies of S58 and S59 Stolzschweiger winners David Kiaskow, Colton Rayne and Aksel McKnight in Season 58 and 59 were some way off the point tallies of the ten team era where it was commonplace for the award winner to be over a point per game, sometimes even breaking the 100 point barrier. Things took an upswing in Season 60 when Veran Dragomir became the first rookie since contraction to break the point per game barrier with 80 points in 72 games, but now two new rookies have come to displace him as the top rookies since contraction in Riga Reign forwards Podrick Cast and Edwin Preencarnacion. The duo didn't get off to the best of starts, with Cast getting 9 points through his first 12 games and Preencarnacion only having 7. However a line change and the acquisition of former Labatte winner Pablo saw the rookies production jump significantly. At first it looked like Preencarnacion was going to have the highest point total at the end of the season out of the pair thanks to a 24 game point streak, however Cast only got stronger throughout the season and overtook Preencarnacion and with one game remaining is currently nine points ahead of Preencarnacion and only three points short of a 100 point season.
