Fire Tortorella 2,653
Jeff PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - Coming from a hockey family, it was no surprise that Jeff would one day become a VHL player. With his strong hockey background, it was instilled in him from day one that hockey was going to be his future. From talking hockey at the dinner table since he was a little boy, everyone assumed that Jeff would become a cereal two-way center like Robin. Well, they were wrong. It became apparent from a young age that Jeff was interested in two things: scoring goals and skating fast. Playing for the Philadelphia Little Flyers, Jeff would become a highly sought after prospect for the USNTDP, the US National Development Team playing in the USHL. While he was pushed by his coaches and teammates to join them in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft, Jeff decided to follow his dream of joining the Victory Hockey League. Jersey Number: 17 Height: 6'3" Weight: 217 lbs Birthplace: Philadelphia, PA NHL Comparable: Jeff Carter/Rick Nash STRENGTHS: Shot: Jeff's shot is A++ and has the potential to be one of the best in the league. This is the skill that will make or break his success, as if he's not scoring goals, then he's not contributing too much to his team. While Jeff will have to adjust to having less time and space against professionals, his shot is what makes him a potential elite offensive player. At the very least, his shot will allow Jeff to become a power play specialist. Skating: Jeff's skating is somewhere between "good" and "great". He's a more than adequate skater in a league that seems to be getting faster and faster instead of heavier. He may not "wow" you with his breakaway speed or agility, but he's mobile enough to get the job done and surprise some of the slower skaters in the league. His stride is very efficient, so while it may not look like he's working hard, it's because he doesn't have to. Leadership: Jeff has been raised to play hockey since he was a kid. Both on and off the ice, he has shown he is a leader that can help his team. He'll never give an exciting interview in his life, but he'll keep the media spotlight off of his teammates and allow them to concentrate on their game. WEAKNESSES: Defense: For one reason or another, most scorer's are not known for their defensive play. Some players, like Daniel Briere, try hard defensively, but just can't get the job done. This isn't Jeff. Jeff is Nikolai Zherdev. Defense means less offense, back checking means less breakaways. Less offense means less scoring, less contract money. For this reason, Jeff will most likely be a net zero player at even strength, so he'll have to make his money on the power play in order to be a positive contributor to the team. Passing: If you can shoot, why pass? As one of the most talented players on each team he was on, why would he pass to his teammates? Most of his assists will come off of rebounds, missed shots, or deflections. Strength: Overall, his strength is bang average. However, because of his size, many like to call him weak. He will never play up to his size, and that will infuriate some people. However, Jeff will be able to his his own most of the time in the corners. You won't find him playing in front of the net too often or making too many hits. Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/52730-jeff-rookie-profile-12/ Share on other sites

Exlaxchronicles 415
Nice write up Fire. Good pick, sentence structure, wording and punctuation. Like the colored headers for each paragraph. And all his stats are added. Good job. Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/52730-jeff-rookie-profile-12/#findComment-558177 Share on other sites
