Endorsements rolling in

Less than 24 hours after opening the league to Brand Endorsements, the dollars are flying, as companies seek the top players to represent their brand. With 39 endorsement deals already signed, and over $44,000,000 spent on signing these athletes, with more deals pending and a lot more free slots, it is an exciting time for the VHL, its players and its fans, as more money invested into the league can only lead to a better on-ice product.

 

@tfong and VIKING lead the way, with 13 endorsements already signed, totaling $12,000,000; closely followed by @majesiu and Haterade, with $9,500,000 spent on 7 athletes.

 

It will be interesting to see how the league's Brand Executives navigate their first foray into sponsorships, as one stipulation for allowing endorsements was that Brands would always need to carry at least 3 VHLM endorsements on their roster. This quirk could lead to some chaos, going forward, if teams are not careful about keeping room on their rosters to acquire new VHLM players once theirs graduate, as graduating players will be treated as mutual terminations should the Brand not have room to sign new minor league players.
