During the Season 62 off-season, veteran winger Jeff Gow found himself in an unfamiliar position - an unrestricted free agent. After being traded from the Davos Dynamo to the Quebec City Meute after a Continental Cup win, Jeff and Quebec City management mutually decided to depart ways. Although contract negotiations took place briefly at the beginning of the season, Jeff informed management that he wanted to reach free agency at the end of the season, but was open to returning to the Meute. With a glut of wingers and a lack of centers, he unfortunately did not have a place in the squad, and a contract was not offered. After receiving a couple of offers, Jeff decided to sign with the Riga Reign, a young up and coming team that has a shot at being competitive in the playoffs this season. While no one would consider the Reign favorites this year, anything could happen.
