Bayley 419
PLAYER INFORMATION Player Name: Finn Davison Age: 18 Position: G Height: 75 in. Weight: 176 lbs. Birthplace: United Kingdom CHILDHOOD Finn Davison, growing up in the United Kingdom, grew up in a little bit of a broken household. He had two siblings, a brother and a sister that grew up in the same type of household. His father was an automotive engineer while his mom really did not do too much for work. That really made it tough on Finn Davison. Finn was moving from house to house due to the fact that his mom really decided not to work. An engineer made a decent amount of money, but his mom would just go spend it all. They would end up moving from apartment to apartment to apartment just to try to find a suitable home for children. As a result, Davison would go from school to school, it really was hard to make friends. Davison really only found one place in which he loved to go as his house was some place that he really did not enjoy going to. However, when he stepped on the ice and suited up, and strapped on the skates, it was time. Everything that happened inside his house or in his personal life really was gone. There was nothing that mattered, there was nothing that bothered him. It was just him and the ice, that really grew up to be his best friend. Finn Davison during his youth years playing for his travel team. HIGH SCHOOL YEARS Similarly to his childhood, Davison grew up going from High School to High School to High School as again, his home life did not improve at all. In fact, he played for four different high schools as they kept moving around. Despite everything, Davison started in net everywhere he went. He was always one of the most intriguing prospects on the team, and he was always the leader. Coaches were always impressed by this guy, as he kept everything out of his mind. For such a chaotic life, he was so calm and collected. He was someone that was a great mentor for a lot of the younger players despite only being on the team for a season. He kept in touch with his teammates as he grew together with them. They came more interested in his life, they were really what molded him to where he was today. After high school, he graduated at the young age of 18 years old. There was no doubt that he would go somewhere, he decided that Professional Hockey was going to be the best option for him and his career. Finn Davison during his youth years playing for his high school team. RELATIONSHIP Through everything, there was really one person that stuck by his side through everything, his girlfriend, April. His parents did not think it was a great idea to move out with her, so they did not allow him to do so. She was the rock really for him, she kept him balanced. Now, she did move with him to Ottawa, a far move from London, England. They are living together with the juicy 1.5 million dollars that the Ottawa Lynx paid him this year. She looks past everything, they are looking to see all of North America as obviously neither of them have been able to see much. They have not had the money, so now that they have some money to spend, they plan on seeing all of Canada in the off-season as well as look to go to the United States as well very soon. WHERE FROM HERE? Finn Davison has had a mediocre year for the Ottawa Lynx thus far. He was thrown into the starting role despite having to play for that position right out of camp. There were no guarantees, but he was given the starting spot right away. Given that JB Rift was the starter coming into the season, him getting the starting role was something that was a little bit of a surprise to everyone involved. You can call him a bit of an underdog, but that is something that has always been a story for Davison. He was the unlikely story, he was the unlikely person that will get the starting job. Everyone doubts him, everyone will be disappointed. Where is it going from here? OVERVIEW OF THE VHL Finn Davison has many thoughts on all of the teams of the VHL. He will look at location, potential, and logos. This is what he thinks about all of the different teams and what that reminds him of in his life. Calgary: He is not a huge fan of horses. He has rode on them once or twice in his life, so this is what his initial thought was. Now, when you look at the history of Calgary, it is insane. He would love to be part of a team with a ton of legacy, so he would not oppose to that. HC Davos: When you look at Davos, this is something that he would be close to his family. He is only 12.5 hours from his house in London, England. For someone that has not really moved away, it would be nice to be closer, but would it be ideal given everything that has happened in his life? He likes the logo, he likes the colors, he is not opposed to going here, fantastic team. Helsinki: Helsinki is a little further than Davos is. Now, the logo, he loves the blue color, but the logo is not appealing to him. He thinks of trojans which is funny since he loves the movie 300, but that is really all he knows about that. He is not a huge history guy. New York: He is not a huge fan of the name of the team. He has never been to New York, so it is tough to say what he thinks about the location. He is not a huge fan of the amount of people in New York and how everyone is close together, but that is it. Quebec City: When he looks at logos, this is his number one option. Quebec City is absolutely his top option and the most favorable team. He has a Husky named Brady himself, so this is absolutely great since this logo reminds him of the puppy. He did take the puppy with him to Ottawa, he does not go anywhere without him. That is something people know, he tries to bring him to games, but people do not usually like that. Riga: He is not the biggest fan of this logo. Orange is not his favorite color, but it is a good season for that. Orange is great for Halloween, but Riga is not ideal. He does not mind the team itself, but the logo really does not click for him. Seattle: First fact about Davison, he hates Bears. He absolutely is afraid of them. Toronto: Toronto is going to be close to where he is now, so this is ideal. The logo is sleek and nice, he does not know much about the history, but he is a fan of that. StamkosFan 72
Review: This was a very interesting article, and it’s great to see that your player is from the UK, where in real life, the sport has been really growing and we are getting some guys getting draft in the NHL (Brendan Perlini, Liam Kirk). The moving from place to place storyline is always interesting; as I know personally, switching schools multiple times at a young age is hard. Everyone loves their parents, but him prioritizing his girlfriend is pretty unique. A little hockey focused for a biography, but the team reviews were, again, unique and interesting, so it’s fine by me. Nice job! BladeMaiden 1,807
Review: I enjoy a good underdog story and this is not just a good underdog story, it is a great one. There are not a lot of players in the League that are from the UK and I find it extremely interesting to go on the journey with them from being a struggling youth to seeing them flourish in the VHLM. I'm Glad that Finn and April are now living it up in Ottawa. It makes sense for a players biography to be this hockey based when you consider that hockey was one of the few joys in this young man's life. The reviews of the VHL teams was my favorite part, honestly I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. If Quebec ends up drafting you it will be Kismet lol.
