Revvy Uses Playoffs for New Contract

Is Oleksiy Revchenko a household name right now in the VHL world? No, but it is important to know that he is still a capable player that just came off his rookie season in the VHL with the Calgary Wranglers. He did not have the greatest season in the world but was effective at times playing from the center or as a right-winger. In 72 games, Revchenko had 39 points which were a total of 15 goals and 24 assists and finished with a +/- rating of +3 on the year. The team was 3 goals better while Revchenko was on the ice, that is at least something to look at as he was not a negative in any way. In the playoffs, Revchenko also finished with a +3 rating in his 12 games played. In the playoffs, Revvy stepped up his points per game output and had 11 points in the 12 games with 5 goals and 6 assists. He scored at a much more efficient rate with a shot percentage of 15.15% rather than his regular season percentage of 6.10%. Revchenko is widely expected to re-sign in Calgary to help the Wranglers get back to their championship ways and continues to improve his game in many areas. Revchenko should get a decent contract and be able to go into next season hopefully with more ability on the ice. The jury is still out on Oleksiy, but he was about a league average player as a rookie, and that is okay. Quebec City probably should have kept him but their loss is Calgary's gain.
