oilmandan 688
After laying an egg in the S63 season, expectations were quite low heading into S64 and year 2 of the New York Americans rebuild. To most peoples surprise, the Americans beat the Toronto Legion by a count of 4-2 yesterday evening. The Americans are currently sitting in a tie for second place with an impressive 1-0-0 record. The Legion outshot the Americans 51 to 31 in the game, but a stellar performance by Ismond Kingfisher helped deliver a victory. Second year dud Dan Wilinsky opened the scoring just over 200 seconds into the season. Third overall pick in the most recent draft Joel Ylonen picked up his first point with an assist on the goal. Ylonen would capture his first career goal 31 ticks into the second period on the power play to extend the lead to 2-0. Toronto would tie the game with 2 quick goals late in the second to send the game to the final fram knotted up at 2. Scott Shawinganen potted a pair of his own late in the third, 64 seconds apart to win and seal the victory. Roctrion King and Joseph McWolf both added a pair of assists. While Wilinsky and top pick Ryan Sullivan Jr also had helpers. The city of New York plans on holding a parade before the second game and before the Americans record is tarnished Edited December 31, 2018 by oilmandan McWolf 1 Link to comment https://vhlforum.com/topic/56607-americans-win-crack-open-the-bubbly/ Share on other sites
