The Helsinki franchise has been a original city throughout VHL history. However, many do not know they weren't always know as the Titans but were the Helsinki Frostbite for I think maybe 1 or 2 seasons. Either way, that is ancient history and we have the Titans who are one of the most storied franchises in VHL history.

VHL Championships

RW - Alex Watson

Season 15 Championship Roster

The Helsinki Titans were able to claim 2 Continental Cups from Season 1 to 19 with the championships coming in Season 6 and Season 15. The Season 6 roster was known for defense and goaltending with Doug Schneider, Lennowitcz Schalkwinzz, Brad Janssen, Shawn Howard and Dominik Stryker. Doug and Lenny were more commonly known as the Hebrew Hammers on defense. The S6 team though also had Scotty Campbell, Aiden Alexander, Branden Snelheid, Matt Defosse and Daric Radmonovic. It was a very formidable team with a lot of well known names of the VHL's first decade. The S15 was more of a hard working team rather than big names as Ginzou Fujiwara, Carl Jacobs and Matt Bailey were amongst the biggest names.

Regular Season/Playoff Record

Unfortunately, there are no records which are available to break down the teams for the first 19 Seasons in the VHL for any of the teams which is a crying shame.

Awards

Victory Cup (Best Regular Season Record) - 0 Times

N/A

The Titans in the first 19 Seasons of VHL history did not win the Victory Cup as the best Regular Season team. Pretty weird considering the 2 VHL Championships.

Terence Fong Trophy (European Conference Champions) - 5 times

S3, S5, S6, S14, S15

The Titans were able to claim the Terence Fong 5 times throughout the first 19 seasons. That is a average of making it to the finals once every 3.8 seasons. The Titans made it to the finals in back to back seasons from S5-6 then again in S14-15. In the first 6 seasons, the Titans made it 3 times.

Scotty Campbell Trophy (MVP) - 0 Times

N/A

The Scotty Campbell Trophy has never called Helsinki home during the first 19 Seasons of VHL Existence.

Brett Slobodzian Trophy (Most Outstanding Player, as voted on by the members) - 0 Times

Again, like the Campbell Trophy, the Slobodzian Trophy also has not called Helsinki home during the Seasons from S11 to S19.

Daisuke Kanou Trophy (Playoff MVP) - 2 Times

S3 - Maxim Desny - 7 W | 6 L | 1 OTL | 2.64 G.A.A | .938 SV%

S15 - Matt Bailey - 10 G | 8 A | 18 P | +4

The Kanou Trophy found it's way to Helsinki 2 times in Season 3 with Desny winning with a .938 SV% which was solid considering Helsinki played the high powered Calgary Wranglers in the finals. In S15, Bailey took it home with 10 goals and 18 points in the Helsinki Titans playoff run which ended with a Championship.

Mike Szatkowski Trophy (Top Point Scorer) - 1 Time

S6 - Scotty Campbell - 155 Points

This barely counts in my opinion because Campbell was traded to the Titans midway through the season that he won the Szatkowski Trophy. Either way, his 155 points was enough to take it.

Kevin Brooks Trophy (Top Goal Scorer) - 1 Time

S16 - Leander Kaelin - 55 Goals

Much like the Szatkowski Trophy, Kaelin won this Trophy after coming to Helsinki via a trade with Davos.

Alexander Beketov Trophy (Top Assists) - 1 Times

S6 - Scotty Campbell - 87 Assists

This is getting a bit silly as the Beketov only came to the Titans after a trade with Seattle for Scotty Campbell. His 87 assists tied him with Dustin Funk for the trophy.

Sterling Labatte Trophy (Top Defenseman) - 0 Times

The Labatte Trophy has never been won by a Titans defender in the first 19 Seasons.

Aidan Shaw Trophy (Top Goaltender) - 2 Times

S2 - Maxim Desny - 27 W | 44 L | 1 OTL | 3.40 G.A.A | .907 SV%

S5 - Maxim Desny - 47 W | 13 L | 2 OTL | 2.54 G.A.A | .923 SV% | 9 SO

Desny is won of the best goalies of his generation as he won the Shaw Trophy twice in his career. However, the first season he won with just 27 wins and 44 losses and his counting stats weren't that great either with 3.40 G.A.A and a .907 SV%. The 2nd time he won it was much more deserved with 47 wins, a 2.54 G.A.A and a .923 SV% with 9 shutouts. Either way, he was a great goalie in his short career in the VHL.

Scott Boulet Trophy (Best Defensive Forward) - 8 Times

S7 - Matt Defosse - 40 G | 72 A | 112 P | +51 | 88 H | 59 SB

S9 - Issac Scheistel - 38 G | 40 A | 78 P | -19 | 91 H | 55 SB

S10 - Peter Payne - 22 G | 41 A | 63 P | +19 | 175 H | 44 SB

S11 - Peter Payne - 17 G | 45 A | 62 P | +29 | 160 H | 40 SB

S13 - Matt Bailey - 44 G | 66 A | 110 P | +13 | 321 H | 21 SB

S14 - Matt Bailey - 46 G | 43 A | 89 P | +33 | 278 H | 31 SB

S15 - Matt Bailey - 46 G | 47 A | 93 P | +31 | 261 H | 39 SB

S16 - Leander Kaelin - 55 G | 56 A | 111 P | +47 | 291 H | 44 SB

Well, this was definitely a category that the Titans have owned compared to other trophies. The Titans have won 8 Scott Boulet Trophies with Bailey winning 3 in a row from S13-15, Peter Payne winning two in a row fro S10-11 and Defosse winning in S7, Scheistel winning in S9 and Kaelin winning in S16 after being traded to the Titans. In a 7 year span, the Titans won 6 and in a 10 seasons span they had won 8 times. The Boulet trophy was own by the Titans in a 10 year stretch.

Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy (Top Rookie) - 1 Time

S19 Jakob Kjledsen - 35 W | 25 L | 3 OTL | 3.13 G.A.A | .912 SV% | 2 SO

Kjeldsen saves the Titans from getting shutout in this category much like the 3 other times in their history and he does it in Season 19 when he led the Titans with 35 wins and a .912 SV%.

David Knight Trophy (Top GM) - 4 Times

S3 - Maxim Desny

S5 - Daric Radmonovic

S6 - Daric Radmonovic

S14 - Matt Bailey

Desny was the first winner in S3 follwed by 2 seasons of Daric in back to back seasons of S5 and S6 before Bailey won in S14 to make it 4 wins.

Grimm Jonsson Trophy (Top Leader) - 2 Times

S3 - Maxim Desny

S17 - Malcolm Kelly

The Grimm called Helsinki home two times in S3 and S17 with Desny winning and Malcolm Kelly in S17.

Mikka Virkkunen Trophy (Most Sportsmanlike Player) - 1 Time

S5 - Brandon Snelheid

S15 - Nicolas Miller

Twice in Helsinki history has a player won the Top Pussy Trophy and that was Snelheid in S5 and 10 seasons later Miller won in S15.

Trophy Total: 30

The Helsinki Titans have the smallest Trophy cabinet of the 3 teams that have been covered. Calgary has the most with 71 total trophies and Davos with 50 so 30 seems a little low, especially with 8 wins coming from the Scott Boulet Trophy.

Calgary Wranglers: S1-S19

HC Davos Dynamo: S1-S19

Hey, I was a member of both CCup teams!

Also, it’s not in the portal, except for his HOF article ( @Victor...), but Bailey shared the S14 Malone trophy with Kaelin

I found the same with one Chershenko co-won - someone didn't transfer shit from threads to portal correctly tsk tsk.

Couldn't have been me I was inactive. :P
