The off-season saw the movement of much maligned winger, Vaydar Odinsson from the Helsinki Titans, all the way to New York and the open arms of the Americans front office. Some in the media were confused with the transaction however, as Odinsson had openly declared his commitment to the Titans, moments after he was drafted by their GM, Quik. "Yes, I contacted Quik prior to the draft to encourage him to use a selection on me, whenever that may have been", said Odinsson. Helsinki seem nonplussed by the move in the off-season, netting Roctrion King as well as two future draft picks(S65 3rd and S66 2nd). "We only want winners here in Helsinki, not whiners", said Goalie and all-round hero, Alexander Pepper. It is believed that Odinsson's attitude during the S64 season was not in line with Titan's philosophy and the trade was a welcome relief for several of the Helsinki players. "Thank fuck he's gone", said one player who preferred to stay unnamed.

New York is a comfortable destination for Odinsson's agent, BOOM™ who spent several seasons there with VHL favorite and HOF player Odin Tordahl. He is familiar with the city and the hardcore fans of New York so it may be a better fit for someone like Odinsson who continually expects to improve and contribute to team and personal success. Only time will tell if the move pays off for New York, although the renewed determination from both Odinsson and BOOM™ should put the rest of the VHL teams on notice.

No more fucking around....
