Suddenly the darkness stopped spreading throughout Marvin’s being. After a silent moment, the glass wound shattered entirely, and with it the darkness fell from our hero’s body. Before he could even comprehend what he had done he found himself in a quaint little cottage. In the corner, Marvin felt a presence that emanated a repellant aura. The figure turned around, and Marvin was aghast at the sight before him. He was looking at what appeared to be a pickle, only it had arms for ears, lips for nostrils, toes for eyes and a foot for a mouth. Marvin vomited instantaneously.

 

“HelLO, SWEet traveler,” it bellowed at annoyingly fluctuating volumes. “iT is i, dILL!”. The thing shuffled towards Marvin, its pelvic feet working double time to perform the task. “I heaR yoU’vE met My aUNT, ubaldO!” Marvin was sure Ubaldo was a dude frog, but he knows better in this day and age than to presume anyone’s gender, so he let it go. “I suPPosE you haVE Some queSTIoNs. fire aWay!”

 

“How are you a living pickle?” Marvin immediately asked.

 

“I aM a FroG!” Dill angrily croaked as Marvin was transported back to the wind-swirling realm of darkness for a couple seconds. “now ask something that matters, or I truly have no use for you!”

 

Marvin pondered a moment, and figured he’d be best off to start from the top. “How long have you been isolated here?”

 

“it coUlD be daYs, COULd be moNtHs, bUt it’s beeN AT least 300 yEArs i’d Say,” Dill responded.

 

“Shit man, I’m sorry to hear that.”

 

“WATCH your proFanIty oR it’s baCk to tHe dDarKNEsS wIth You!” Once again Marvin saw back into the ghastly realm as Dill boomed his statement. The conversation continued.

 

“Were you sent here by someone?”

 

“nO, BuT i Was bAnISHeD to tHis huT by the mAN YOU KNOw as Pennypenny. he dId NOt aPpReCiaTE my DanK mEmEs and for that i hAve beEn sTUCK fOR eoNs.”

 

“But how could someone as powerful as you be tied down like that?”

 

“IT is clEaR yoU do not uNDErstAnD thE GRaVITy oF whAt you’re UP AGAiNst. i haVE Been lIStEninG to Pennypenny, waTching hiS COMings AND goINgS, And he Has biG plans for yOU!”

 

“What can I do to defeat him then?”

 

“noW yoU’rE tALkIn’! At hIS cOre, Pennypenny is thE nICeSt, most ULTIMATE BEing in any uNIversE, But he HAs beEN coRruPteD by Many sourCeS OvER thE sPan of HIS enDLeSs eXIStenCe. dARKNESS has spReAd iNTo his heARt, and IS dRowNinG ouT THe ligHT THat eXisTs. HiS tRUe selF beCKONS to BE RELEASEd, but his veins now run WITh tAintEd BloOD. HE hAS sO MUcH ExCEss darkneSs EXuDINg FrOm his pOreS tHAT HE proJEctS it oNTo OtHEr BeiNGS In tHE WoRLd. tHeRE are seVEn BEings iN tHis rEALM ThaT arE cOnsidEREd Pennypenny’s GUArdiAns, aNd theY arE, fIRst And foreMosT –”

 

Just then, a pebble fired through the air faster than a bullet, barreling straight through Dill’s esophagus brain and killing him instantly.

 

“That’s what you get for turning me into this, you fucking bitch!” proclaimed Nykonax the pebble.
