jRuutu 2,464
We are closing in on the 20 game mark, Vancouver Wolves is sitting first in the standings like many speculated and knew before the season even started. Wolves is technically a new team in the league, the organization moved from Quebec to Vancouver during the off-season. Despite the overwhelming support both from the experts around VHL and fans of hockey, some still felt like the move is too much for even the most talented teams, they thought Vancouver is going to struggle a little bit early on, it´s not been the case as we have seen. Many of the players in the team are still the same from last years team, one of those players is Rauno Palo, I asked a few questions from him after the Toronto game last night: How did the game go?RP: You know same old same old really, won the game and took home the full points. Personally, I had a poor night, shot six times, but nothing went in. Let´s talk a little bit about Vancouver in general, how has the move from Quebec to Vancouver been?RP: Surprisingly easy, the city is beautiful and fans have been super nice to us right away, really helps that the city is a proper hockey city, fans talk about the team a lot and come watch us play - dream place to be if you are a hockey player. With this win, Wolves move to first place in the standings, a surprise to you?RP: Naah, not really. We have been playing perhaps the best hockey in the league so far in the year. The big reason behind that is our great training camp, everybody really came to work and it starts to show, we are winning games. There have been some rumors about you and Louth not getting along, any truth behind those comments?RP: All lies, me and Louth are good buddies, I suspect those rumors have been put out just to try to mess up the chemistry inside the team, but you are going to need more than just that, I get a bigger reaction by just smiling at Beau in the locker room, he does not like that sometimes, so some silly words from fans, media or whoever won´t make any difference, we are true professionals, if things get too hot between us, we will drop the gloves and settle it like proper centers. New York is coming to visit soon, any comments about the upcoming game?RP: Won´t be an easy game, that is for sure, but if we can keep on playing as we did here today against Toronto, I have full confidence on our ability to secure a win and take important points. Thank you Rauno and good luck. There you have it, a quik interview with Rauno Palo. Looking at the answers, it looks like the feeling inside the team is great and everybody can freely express their feelings and ideas without having to worry about too much on what happens, if and when Vancouver is able to keep the same intensity up as so far in the season, they are going to be an annoying team to play against.
