PBR: Reapers Eviscerated!

As of late, the trade rumors had been swirling around Reapers. That is only natural to hear around a struggling team. The events that were put in motion by Reapers GM BladeMaiden starting Thursday night caught all VHLM fans by surprise. BladeMaiden pulled off a string of trades that gutted the core of the Reaper franchise. When it was all said and done, 10 Reapers were traded. Many Reaper faithful were left in a state of shock. A team they had quickly grown to love was ripped apart over the course of four painful days. “Wow, I don’t even know what to say. As a fan you develop a real connection with the players. Mikko, Hans, Frosty, Viggie, Charlie, I mean I love those guys and now they’re gone,” said one stunned fan.

 

Include the PBR in the list of stunned people. We have never seen a team gutted to this level this early in the season. Especially with the Reapers seeming to turn the corner winning 4 of 6 games prior to the infamous “Tank Thursday” as some fans are calling it. The PBR thinks if you have 10 people good enough to trade to teams competing for the cup, doesn’t that mean your team can compete for the cup with those 10 players?

 

Looking at it from BlaideMaiden’s perspective, her actions make sense. Philadelphia is loaded with great picks for this season and next season. The prospect class for next year will be as great as ever. Even if the Reapers recently started gelling on the ice, they’re still a long way from winning the cup this season. With these moves, BlaideMaiden makes the Reapers early favorite to win cups the next two seasons. Reaper management is hoping that promise of future success is enough to keep Philadelphians supporting this team.

 

The gutting of the team led to another casualty outside of the locker room. The PBR is shutting down for now. We have been instructed to focus our writing on other topics.
