General Manager Alexander Pepper of the Houston Bulls announcing the blockbuster VHLm trade this morning

"I'm sad to see a player like Laughton go- we were looking forward to helping him grow here in Houston, and I would have liked to see that process through. However, our guys are hungry to win, and a trade like this was the best way to get behind them. Lynch brings that extra punch to our team that will really insert us into the 'contender' conversation, and he's going to be an invaluable piece of the puzzle going forward. We're giving him a warm welcome here in Houston, and I can't wait to see what he can do for this team."

The Ottawa Lynx have traded Jack Lynch, who is well over point per game, with 38 goals and 41 assists for a total of 79 points in 50 contests, to the Houston Bulls.

Heading back to Ottawa is Blake Laughton, who had 4 goals, 2 assists for a total of 6 points in 50 games. The Lynx also receive Houstons 1st round selection in the Season 67 draft, along with Houstons 4th round selection in the same season.

Jack Lynch currently sits at 3rd for league scoring in the VHLm, trailing behind Hunter Hearst Helmsley (99 Points) and Denver Wolfe (82 Points). An accurate projection places him most likely on the top line, replacing Laughtons former spot along side Kari Jurri and Maximillian Kirbsson, which would most likely be one of the best lines in the VHLm so far. It's definitely a clear all in gamble from Bulls management, opting to go for a deep playoff run in their debut season.

The opposite can be said about Ottawa. Trading away your leading scorer is clearly a commitment to a new fresh slate. The first round pick can be huge for Ottawa as they recently just re-acquired their season 66 pick from Minnesota.

Its definitely possible to see how both sides win this trade, Lynch may be called up by the end of the season, and with Ottawa lagging behind in the playoff race, decided to recoup assets to rebuild and commit to another run later down the line. Acquiring another first rounder means that they will be able to draft a player who hopefully maintains a good development curve, thus leading to more years of service towards the team. Houston gets much needed depth on Right Wing, and Lynch can certainly make a case for winning the scoring race with top tier players such as Jurri and Kirbsson on his line. Houston is able to overload the first line or double shift lynch on the 4th, which leads to a higher threat from the top end while distributing scoring through the forward corps at the same time.

Laughton comes to the Canadian capital with high hopes as hes expected to be a central piece moving forward.

The lines should then shake down like this for Houston:

Jurri - Kirbsson - Lynch

Griffin -Kozlov - MacElroy

J. Sederstrom - L. Sederstrom- Chism

ClaudePaul - Kirbsson - Jurri/Lynch

And for Ottawa:

Wagner - Harju - Draper

Eriksson Ek - Batz - Rodriguez

De Rossi - Kennedy - Laughton

Houston currently sits right behind Halifax in 2nd place, so look to see Houston possibly contest for 1st.
