Nighthawks Announce New Signing

The Malmo Nighthawks have announced their first signing in their team’s history.  Earlier today, due to the clause that allows the team to select a local player, the Malmo Nighthawks announced the acquisition of young local hero, Lucas Nygren.  The team released the following statement:

 

“Today, we begin our roster search by adding a local prospect to our team.  Lucas Nygren has been one of our brightest prospects in this city ever and has received a lot of popularity over the years as an internet sensation.  He has played his entire career in Malmo, and given that he was born here, we would like to give him the opportunity to become our first great superstar in our franchise’s history.  He will join one of our VHLM Teams and will work his way up from there, but we are super excited to sign him in the long-term and are thrilled that he is going to be a future member of the Nighthawks.”

 

In addition to the Nighthawks announcement, their General Manager briefly discussed his plans going into the Season 66 Draft:

 

“There are obviously a lot of tremendous players in the upcoming draft but we have some things to take care of first.  Obviously, the Expansion Draft will help us determine the direction we want to go in the main draft.  With that being said, with the ridiculous amount of talent, we are excited to add five, six or even seven actives to the team and are looking forward to connecting with some players.  Without mentioning anyone specific there are a lot of top talents and I feel a lot of really good players flying under the radar as well.”
