Kevin Low came to the Victory Hockey League late in the season, signing with the Las Vegas Aces with only twelve games remaining in the regular season. The Aces had a stable full of defenseman when Low joined the team, so Low was placed on the third defensive pairing throughout those twelve games. Low wasn’t able to make the impact he wanted to during those twelve games with limited ice-time, but he still put up admirable numbers with two goals, five assists, and a plus six rating in those twelve games. After a up and down regular season for the Aces they qualified for the playoffs as the number five seed. After his twelve game trail run with the Aces, Low was moved up to the second defensive pairing for the Victory Hockey League Minor playoffs, playing in both games the Aces against the number four seeded Yukon Rush. Although the Aces and Low were beat by the Rush in those two games the team played some of their best hockey all season in those two games. Low himself didn’t play his best in his first VHLM playoffs, posting only one goal in those two games and a minus 2 rating. Low might have made the impact he wanted to in Season Sixty-Five, but he will hopefully have bigger fish to fry moving forward.

The next step in the VHL process for Low will be his off-season training in anticipation of the Season Sixty-Six VHLM Dispersal Draft. Low isn’t the highest rated prospect heading into the off-season, but with not many high end defenseman available for teams, Low might find himself off the draft board sooner than later. Low being the son of VHL Hall of Famer Connor Low might have additional expectations placed on him by some VHL and VHLM executives, but Low knows that he will need to carve his own path in both leagues and that starts with hard work. Since the Aces were bounced from the playoffs by the Rush, Low has been putting in the work each day to become a better overall player, working on becoming a better 200 foot player.

At the time Low made himself eligible for the VHLM around the trade deadline in Season Fifty-Six, only one VHLM team reached out to Low camp with a offer to join the club for the remainder of the season.. That team was of course the Las Vegas Aces, who Low dressed for during the twelve games in the regular season and two more in the playoff series again Yukon. The Aces are in the midst of a personal change at the moment, but word is that Low would love to make a return to the sin city due to his familiarity with the club and many players that will be returning next season, as well as the chance to have another shot at the playoffs after the disappointing finish this season. The Aces are without a First and Second Round draft choice this season, so unless Low’s stock takes a steep dive in the next few weeks a return to Veags is highly unlikely.
