InstantRockstar 1,243
The SD Marlins officially concluded their inaugural draft in the VHLM, and it went just about as well as they could've hoped. In the first, second and third round alone, they had six total picks (two in each of the first three rounds). With those picks, they got the following: Phil Marleau (5th overall) Edgar Thanhill (10th overall) Greg Eagles (15th overall) Samuel Sparrow (21st overall) Andrei Mikhailov (27th overall) Dean Clarke (32nd overall) A lot of active players, a lot of good positions picked, they basically secured their whole first line in just a matter of three rounds, as they got a full forward line, full d-pair and a starting goalie. They were then tasked with finishing off the draft and just at this point either drafting based on positional need, or activity, and the team chose activity and went with the following: David Clarkson (43rd overall) Scotty BigShotty (54th overall) Lexington Lewis (65th overall) Taylor Budwaisor (76th overall) Four more picks concluded their picking. They completed a full second line of two wingers and a center, and also picked up an inactive d-man just to say they had a final pick in the draft. All-in-all, the draft went good, they still need some active bodies to fill pieces of their team, but for now they could do some damage as a lot of their core is committed to making big splashes on the team. More to come from the Marlins as we progress through the off-season.
