Three things that stick are a) the font and the outline, b) the fade on the top of the picture, and c) the background colour. a)/c): personally i would just keep two very contrasting colours so a dark one and a light one. And colours that go together. I've never seen cards with that yellow so it is off for me. Maybe a bit more tan would make sense for that 'aged' look for the bg and a white or black text. b): Keep the lines consistent. The bottom of the picture has a straight line and a drop shadow so the top should just be a straight line on top with no drop shadow visible (to coincide with the bottom shadow) Overall nice work!!
